The aim was to create and guide the use of graphics for a show that hosts a wide spectrum of personalities with diverse areas of expertise. During the complete development, our focus was set on pushing the limits of the graphics and animations for visuals that would feel diverse and versatile, able to represent the processes and evolution of human ideas with a fresh and fun approach.

Never Wasted →

August 29, 2022 by Luke Finch

Food waste is a serious issue. For the hospitality industry, there’s mounting tension for bars and restaurants to positively change their food waste footprint. But for industries that are built on delivering premium food and drink experiences using the freshest produce, there’s an inherent paradox that has prevented the industry from inciting lasting change. Until now.

Whiley is challenging bars, restaurants and producers to rethink what they know about waste. His acclaimed London bar, Scout, pioneered the use of hyperlocal and foraged produce, and when launching his most recent venue, Re, in South Eveleigh in Sydney, he’s taking it a step further by creating the world’s first zero-waste bar, literally built on waste. Using his laboratory onsite at Re, Whiley converts by-products from local cafes, restaurants and producers that others would consider imperfect, unfit for service date or straight-up scrap into delicious cocktails and bar snacks.

The film captures the heart and soul of what personally drives Whiley as he tirelessly educates and develops his unique supply chain of waste products and by-products from the daily running of local Sydney businesses. Collaborating with Roni Khan (OzHarvest / Refettorio ), Josh Niland (Saint Peter / Fish Butchery), Dan Ye (Artificer), Shelley Simpson (Mud Ceramics), James Harvey (Yullis Brews), Matteo Pochintesta ( Mapo Gelato), Donato Toce (Gelato Messina) and more.

Audible Photos by Ally Satterfield →

August 25, 2022 by Luke Finch

A talented and emerging designer I had the joy of crossing paths with recently. I loved her work so much that I wanted to post this particular project as it was very creative.

In her words… While studying abroad at University of the Arts London, I had an idea that sound could evoke a memory for someone, similar to how a photograph would. I used the P5JS Web Editor to create what I call "Auditory Photographs." After uploading an audio or movie file, the sound's amplitude, frequency, and volume is mapped and creates a unique "photo."

LightVision – Meditation Remastered →

August 22, 2022 by Luke Finch

Resonate LightVision is a meditation headset for US startup Resonate designed by Layer.
This headset features an LED light matrix that allows powerful meditation to be attained simply and effortlessly, regardless of level of experience. In a world where we are increasingly exposed to stressors – from the recent pandemic, to constant screen time – this kind of immersive meditation is more important and relevant than ever before.

The headset features an LED light matrix that translates videos of the natural world into an ever-changing sequence of biomorphic patterns that are visible through closed eyes and proven to activate the brain’s frequency-following response. The soft and welcoming design of the Resonate LightVision headset sets a new standard for meditation, with a calming, minimal design language that encourages a restful state of mind before the product is even in use.

The textile-wrapped casing of LightVision softens the high-tech product and creates a tactile experience, while the seamlessly integrated, adjustable strap is elevated by metallic branding details that evoke the design language of jewellery. These details bring the tech accessory closer to a piece of fashion.

Alexander Schönberg →

August 15, 2022 by Luke Finch

In his works, Alexander tries to capture the everyday scenes of a city, which also shape them under the typical weather conditions that prevail there. His works are difficult to assign a particular direction, it is most of a mixture of architecture, street, fineart and people. It is very important for him that the pictures tell a story, even if it is sometimes only a sentence, often using a human as a stylistic device.

Janusz Jurek →

August 11, 2022 by Luke Finch

Experiments with the line strongly characterize Janusz’s works, that can be classified as generative art. The technique he uses is based on the merging of new technologies and procedural programming, it also contains vital elements of classical drawing. The first stage in creating this type of graphics is writing the code which helps the computer generate spatial forms. Then, using the skills of drawing and sculpting, the artist gives them shapes inspired by the human body. Human body was followed by other subjects.

I have the joy of being friends with this talented emerging photographer.

In her words… “Over time, photography has forced me to experience the world through a new lens. Light becomes everything. It dictates the mood and dimensionality of a scene. It makes mountains glow and leaves shimmer. It’s the difference between boring and dramatic. It can also be a source of annoyance to non-photographers if you prattle on too long.”

Buy Light. Give Light. by Accept&Proceed →

August 04, 2022 by Luke Finch

In response to the ongoing and devastating attacks on Ukraine, Accept & Proceed is holding an archive sale of Light Calendar screen-prints to raise funds for Kyiv Independent; a news site that continues to bring the world trusted and critical information about the facts on the ground, under the most challenging circumstances. Independent journalism in Ukraine needs our support with this difficult and unpredictable task.

From shedding light on Russian cyberattacks, to bombings and ground invasions, it is hard to predict what the days ahead will bring and what independent journalists will need to do in response. There are reports that Russian government have been blocking independent news outlets and preventing Russians from hearing news of the invasion of Ukraine. Independent journalism is needed more than ever.

The Light Calendar series are a decade long project where we plotted the daylight seen in London throughout the year. We are selling this archive of collectable screen prints in recognition that a darker world - one without access to independent journalism and unheard voices in crisis - is no place we should be in Today. Accept & Proceed will donate 100% of the proceeds from this sale to the Kyiv Independent.

July 25, 2022 by Luke Finch

Show package produced in partnership with MTV, for the 19th annual MTV European Music Award, broadcasted live from Frankfurt’s historic Festhalle on Sunday, November 11, 2012.

The animated sequence is a journey through time and space, transcending the ancient Zoetrope concept which stems from pre-Christian Chinese culture to our modern global society. A band lives the American Dream, symbolizing the ascent of a basement musician to stardom across the horizontal zoetrope layers. They move from the underground scene to stardom with the help of their fans and social networks, finally reach the top of the carousel and perform at the MTV EMA.

Apple Music Japan 'Summer' + 'New Life' →

July 18, 2022 by Luke Finch

Scholar partnered with Apple Music Japan, we set out to tell two very different but equally magical stories.

The first, “Summer,” showcases the summer festival season’s bright days and vibrant nights in Japan. We follow our lead character as he slides, dives, and crowd surfs his way across the festival scene, sprinkled with authentic details taken from the sites, snacks, and regalia of the season. Both pieces serve as dynamic journeys through life, backed by music and sounds that keep things fun and energizing.

The second, “New Life,” centers around our protagonist and her metamorphosis from student life into her young adulthood as a budding professional. Fueled by her soundtrack, our hero and her world spring to life with vivid colors and fluid cel animation, setting her well on her way into a new stage of life and style.

María Medem’s atmospheric illustrations are a soothing tonic for a hectic world. Marías creations are a soothing tonic for a hectic world. Drenched in resplendent sunset tones, these dreamy scenes and their peaceful characters capture comforting moments of tranquility.

With this stunning body of work under her belt, it’s unsurprising that, since we spoke last November, the Sevilla-based illustrator has published even more visual narratives and received commissions from the likes of Gossamer, The New York Times and most recently, the album artwork for Bombay Bicycle Club’s new record.
