Rob Draper →

September 20, 2024 by Luke Finch

Rob is an artist and designer based in the UK.
In his own words “His IG is a series of self initiated works exploring collage and process. An overload of exploring the limits of collage and contrast, combining an oversaturation of ideas, styles, materials, colour and techniques.“

Quantum Fluctuations: Experiments in Flux →

August 26, 2024 by Luke Finch

Quantum Fluctuations shows the complexity and transient nature of the most fundamental aspect of reality, the quantum world, which is impossible to observe directly. In the laboratory, elementary particles are observed by measuring the spoils of a proton collision and comparing the findings with data collected from supercomputer simulations. It is perhaps the most indirect method of observation imaginable, a non-representational form of observation mediated by computer simulations.

Markos R. Kay (neé Christodoulou) is a multidisciplinary artist and director with a focus in art & science and generative art.

Why I Draw With Robots →

September 25, 2020 by Luke Finch

What happens when humans and robots make art together? In this awe-inspiring talk, artist Sougwen Chung shows how she "taught" her artistic style to a machine — and shares the results of their collaboration after making an unexpected discovery: robots make mistakes, too. "Part of the beauty of human and machine systems is their inherent, shared fallibility," she says.

Tree in the House →

March 21, 2017 by Luke Finch

Kazakhstan based architect, Aibek Almasov unifies eco-friendliness, modern design, and nature in his 2013 concept ‘Modern Tree House’. The tactful design is purposed to be constructed around a tree lavishing up 4 floors through the center, allowing you to live first-hand with a tree.

With lighting, energy, and water being a priority, the clear structure is made of transparent solar panels connected to a Tesla ‘Powerwal’”, rainwater is collected for use, and wastewater is purified through a natural system. Potentially launching in 2017, this eco-responsible home means one less tree getting cut down throughout the years.

Particle Love →

June 21, 2016 by Luke Finch

A series of WebGL particle demos created by Edan Kwan, a creative technologist specialising in real-time animation. Originally from Hong Kong, he now works as a freelancer in the UK.

Particle Love features all demos that were part of Edan's WebGL learning process, which enabled him to understand the limitations with shaders. The demos include some interesting graphics techniques he always wanted to try out like SDF particle physics with Leap Motion, real-time 3D meta-ball rendering, multi-directional motion blur, etc.

The truth depends on where you see it from →

April 19, 2016 by Luke Finch

The work of Truly Design inflects in a contemporary perspective the optical phenomenon of anamorphosis, investigated by such artists as Leonardo da Vinci and Hans Holbein since the XV century.

The exhibition Truth depends on where you see it from illustrates the most recent aspects of the aesthetic and poetic research of Truly Design collective, currently focused on geometric abstraction in relation to architecture and urban space.

The anamorphic abstraction proposed couples with the architecture of the MEF, both for sharing the same visual language, made of minimalist geometric shapes, and for the destiny which brings together the collective and the museum space.

Universal Everything →

April 06, 2016 by Luke Finch

Undoubtably one of my favourite agencies who continue to produce inspiring work. Matt Pyke runs a digital art and design collective, inventing new forms of design and moving image for the screens of the future.

This project "A Living Portrait" are digital brushstrokes that rove around the canvas within the confines of a human form, causing occasional glimpses of a face to emerge.
